Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge

ON SAFARI
Over 7,000 wild animals make their home in and around the environs of Ol Donyo Wuas and guests can search for them on foot, by vehicle, or by horseback. The "Big Five" - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard - are all present as well as cheetah, the rare fringe-eared oryx, the shy gerenuk, and the giraffe. One of the special activities at Ol Donyo involves an open-air wildlife viewing facility just below the lodge where a mass of heavy logs provides a safe enclosure for guests to have up-close encounters. Other activities include visiting a Maasai traditional village for insight into Maasai culture and their way of life, day trips to Amboseli National Park, in-room massage services, mountain biking, and hiking.
FLY CAMPING
Experience a night out under canvas with traditnional camp amenities, drinks under the open sky by the fire and superb campfire cuisine. Camp is chosen based on the season so you may be out on the plains or up in the hills. Get to your fly camp by horseback, vehicle or on foot.
CUISINE
Special care has been taken to create a menu that is exciting and varied. Enjoy al fresco lunches on the verandas or candlelit dinners in the dining room. Opt for a bush breakfast or dinner not to mention surprise sundowner cocktails or classic English tea at sunset.
ACCOMMODATION
Ten luxurious guests suites in six stand-alone lodges come equipped with two bedded suites or four bedded private bush homes with their own private lounges and swimming pools. The lodges are perfect for families or small groups of friends. All of the bedrooms have rooftop "star beds" and sundowner area where guests enjoy dramatic views over the plains and onto Mt. Kilimanjaro. Each suite and lodge is designed and positioned slightly differently and retains the atmosphere of the wild bush that surrounds.
CONSERVATION
The philosophy of Ol Donyo Wuas is that "when wildlife thrives, the people prosper," which has inspired the creation of the Maasailand Preservation Trust that works on predator conservation, education, water management, re-forestation, and livestock management training.
