THE CAMP

Surrounded by vast protected wilderness and nestled along the edge of the Golden Creek sits the elegant lodge suspended several meters above the jungle floor and connected by thathed-covered walkways. Guests are greeted at the dock by a fresh tropical beverage and escorted into the main lounge filled with overstuffed sofas, warm tropical hardwoods, elegant dining, and bar. The outdoor deck is the perfect place to relax with a cold dring and the perfect vantage point to witness nature unfolding before you.

THE ACCOMMODATIONS

The free-standing safari-style bungalows feature exquisite furnishings and private verandas overlooking the Golden Creek. The bungalows are fully screened with giant ceiling fans, hot-water shower and bath, and romantic four-post beds canopied with mosquito nets.

CUISINE

Dine by th flickering flame of hurricane lanterns as black-tie bartenders fix drinks to your liking, including the famous Belizean chocolate martini. Five-course meals are served on fine bone china featuring fresh local produce and a fusion of international and traditional recipes. Special meals and dietary requirements can be catered to on request. All local drinks are included in the rate.

ACTIVITIES

Expeditions include kayaking and canoeing on the stream, jungle hikes accompanied by a Maya guide, bird watching from the canopy platform suspended 100' above the forest floor, electric pontoon safaris, and night safaris in search of nocturnal wildlife. Search for monkeys in the canopy and keep your eyes open for tapir and wild pig on the river banks.

Your final morning transfer will be a guided river safari on the gentle pontoon boat to view more wildlife including eagles, kingfishers, mantatees, crocodiles, and more. The freshwater river will slowly change into salty mangroves as you make your way towards the coast and onwards to your next adventure.

LIGHTING AND POWER

A nearly silent generator runs from 5am until midnight when the system switches to battery power to run the lights and celiing fans.
