  • Available May-October
  • One 7 night and one 10 night set departure date every month
  • Tailor made safaris of any duration (minimum 5 nights)
  • Suitable for more experienced and fitter riders
  • Option of one/two nights with pack horse on longer safaris

SAMPLE ITINERARY
At Chelinda lodge, you have time to get acquainted with your horse and ride to Lake Kaulime. Your first big ride takes you across the Dembo River, through grasslands and to the top of Mpopoti Peak. Follow ancient game paths across streams and bogs where you arrive to find your camp awaiting you, complete with hot showers and cold drinks. Ride to the top of Nganda Mountain--the highest peak in Nyika--and later enjoy a refreshing swim in the Rumphi Waterfall.

Your journey to Rukuru Tented Camp takes you across the steep sided Rumphi Valley, onto a high plateau where you can enjoy the views of the villages 2000 ft below. Later, explore the Chisanga Falls where the vegetation begins to change as you descend to a closed canopy woodland. Here, you might even spot baboons and klipspringers.

Arrive back at Chelinda lodge in time for lunch and relaxation before your sundowner drive to see hyena, serval, jackal, and leopard. Enjoy one last night at the lodge before your adventure comes to a close.
