CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

EASTERN AFRICA

"Marjanna - I wanted to send a quick note to you and your team and thank you for putting together a truly amazing first trip to Africa for Lauresa and I.  I can't imagine a more wonderful vacation, so you have your work cut out for you the next time we plan a trip!"  MORE...

"The trip was very good and the operator over there was excellent.  The operator cared for the people that they watched over and I would recommend them for anyone traveling to Uganda.  The guide they gave us also was a very good person and I felt very lucky to have been put with him. Please pass these words onto them as they do deserve kudos for setting up and operating as a great company." MORE...

"I wanted to let you know that we made it back safe and sound from our incredible trip to Africa! We had a fantastic time and it was everythign we had hoped, plus some! We saw every single animal we had wanted, except for the rhino. We also fell in love with Zambia and the managers of Songwe Village. Anyway, you provided us an incredible experience and we can't thank you enough for everything."

MT KILIMANJARO

Jambo from the roof of Africa! My friend Steve & I, known to ourselves as the "iron men", scraped off the rust & successfully climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. This has been a dream of ours for some time. Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, and is the highest and largest free-standing (i.e. not part of a chain of mountains) mountain in the world. It is a dormant volcano & is located in Tanzania in East Africa. MORE...

SOUTHERN AFRICA

"As we were planning our trip to Africa we kept hearing everyone who had ever been there before talk about how they couldn't wait to go back again - and oh, they were so right!!  Our time spent in Zimbabwe was all we had dreamed of.  The Ruwesi Canoe Trip in Mana Pools was a real highlight.  The
"upscale" camping was one of the best experiences we've ever had and our guide Desiree was fabulous." MORE...

"Had a great time!  You planned it well.  I was glad we ended with the horseback.  Saw more animals from the vehicles.  Food was great. Accomodations were great.  People were very nice.  My favorites - the botanical gardens at Cape Town; Kwando Labala's guide - Steve - great with animals and birds; the food at the horse camp.  I brought just the right
clothes and actually had spare room in my suitcase - a first for me."

"Our trip to Africa was heaven to me. Not only the people and the wildlife and the land but you, Marjanna, really went the extra mile to make Brenda's and my trip so wonderful. I can't wait to take another trip with all my Great Expedition friends and I would like to do it just like my African trip, a little bit of this and a little bit of that while I'm seeing so much. I have never come home from a trip feeling so refreshed and happy and feeling like I really experienced something.  Thanks again for all your effort."

" Like you said,  trip of a life time. Camp Makatoo was wonderful. More than met my expectations. Pam does a very credible job of the managing. Shows a lot of concern for the guests. And the food! Just excellent. Take it from a guy with educated taste buds. All the connections worked just fine. I am glad I stayed in Cape Town for the week after. Did half day tours, and a lot of walking in the city, and got acquainted with some interesting people. The length of travel was a grinder of course, I just can't seem to sleep sitting up. The pillow thingy didn't really help much. I wouldn't do it again unless I was prepared to spend the the extra money for Business First. "

"It was the greatest trip. Every thing went flawlessly. I did have a different ticket for the flight from Capetown to Jo than Cathy, or the itinerary. It was at 6:30 AM ticket. We came for our 7:30 flight. But he put us right on the correct flight. Kwando was wonderful. I especially liked Songwe, despite the lack of real special activities. The people were wonderful. It was fun to learn of the village life...

Horse safari was in the midst of a 100 year flood. So, few animals and canters, as water was to our boots much of the way. We did have a nice charge from an Elephant. The lions are a big problem at the moment, so not for the feint of heart. Great food everywhere. Thanks for the great arrangements. "

"Hey! Just got home an hour ago and wanted to write you immediately!  We had such an incredible trip!  Everything was perfect.  From the Southern Circle people - especially Jac and Dave - to the different venues to the game drives, Capetown tour and shark dive we were thrilled and so was everyone else.  Thanks for the itinerary! " MORE...

"We had a great time.  It was a luxury to have our own private tour guides in South Africa.  We could go at our own pace.  The guides were very knowledgeable and polite. My wife Linda rode an elephant in the Botlierskop Private Game Reserve.  She always wanted to ride an elephant.  I would recommend this place to your clients if they want to ride an elephant. MORE...

"Yes, it is nearly 5 a.m. on Sunday, but this is the first moment I have had to myself. Wow, what a holiday!  Where to begin? Steven and Lucy are terrific hosts.  Steven is well informed on wildlife, survival, African politics etc.  He is the kind of guy who gives you the confidence to trust him. Lucy has a gentler nature.  She adds a nurturing side to the trip.  She makes sure that your tea mug is full, that you have eaten well and that the wine and beer has flowed sufficiently. Their ability to compliment each other makes a well rounded management team. Their decision to start the safari with a night at the Dawson Lodge makes perfect sense.  For the visitor, it is a chance to recover from the flight, meet the rest of the group (though we only had Anna as the others had cancelled) and meet the horses." "Well, we asked you to help us plan our destination African wedding for 2 on less than 6 months notice and you did a fabulous job!  First of all, you helped us to define our priorities which were:

  •  finding a country in Africa to marry us easily without a wait
  • wedding in an exotic, remote corner of the world, on the ocean
  • a remote luxury safari honeymoon
  • once in a lifetime adventures! " MORE...
