The setting is magical. So much so that almost a century ago it was reserved, exclusively, for Kenya’s colonial Governors and their royal visitors. Now Governors’ Camp nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, its waters teeming with hippo and crocodile.

We’ve recreated the atmosphere of the original hunting camps. Hidden under ancient trees, deep in the forest, are just 10 tents. They line the winding banks of the Mara River.

Governors Private Camp

Private Camp can only be booked by one family or group at a time, so it’s yours to enjoy, as the name suggests, in private. It means up to 16 people have, to themselves, a beautiful bend of the Mara River.

Little Governors Camp

The Camp that Africa’s old hands swear by, Little Governors’ casts its spell over all who visit from honeymooning couples to Presidents.

Intimate in character, there are just 17 tents tucked around a large watering-hole that teems with animal and bird life. From every veranda the view changes daily: Giraffe and Lion, Elephant and Warthog.
