Porini Camp on safari in Kenya

TRAVEL ADVENTURES IN KENYA:
Porini Camps
Experience the African wilderness in a truly off-the-beaten-path adventure, where no other tourist vehicles can spoil your encounters. These small and exclusive safari camps are located in private wilderness reserves adjacent to Amboseli National Park inside the Selenkay Conservancy and in the Maasai Mara reserve ecosystem in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy. The exclusively eco-friendly camps accommodate a maximum of 12 guests, with 6 spacious tents comfortably furnished and situated underneath acacia trees. Aside from the Kenyan camp manager, head chef, and head guide, all other staff are from the local Maasai community, allowing guests the opportunity to experience their lives and their culture.

Best Safari Outfitter

With a dedication to preserving Africa's wildlife, landscapes, and supporting local communitites, the camps focus on sustainable ecotourism ventures which benefit both the local ecosystem and the experience of visitors as they come into close contact with the environment and wildlife. The environmental policy addresses the impact and managment of land, water, energy, sewage, and solid wastes.

LAND

The camps purposefully have no permanent structures and are strategically placed around the available trees and shrubs so that when the time comes to remove the camp, the area will revert back with no visible signs of a camp or people.

WATER

Water is transported in for use at the camps, and guests are asked to conserve the scarce resource as best they can. Tents are equipped with safari showers, and the total water per tent is less than 20 liters. Waste water and sewage is also managed to prevent contamination.

ENERGY

Solar power provides all lighting to the tents as well as radio communication and outlets for guests appliances. No bush charcoal is used as Kenya is suffering severe deforestation for the production of this. "Green" charcoal briquettes and gas cookers are its substitute.
