Travel to Uganda to experience a world given the name, “The Pearl of Africa”, by Winston Churchill. It is a land of rolling hills, savannah plains, lakes, snow-capped mountains, rainforests, jungles and the world class rapids found on the Nile River. Since 1986, when the current government ended the civil wars of the previous decade, the rehabilitation of the National Parks has made great progress. There is an incredible variety of mammal species and bird life that attracts the visitor, not to mention the moving encounters with Chimpanzees and Gorillas. Presently 10 National Parks are managed: Kidepo Valley, Mount Elgon, Murchison Falls, Lake Mburo, Kibale Forest, Semuliki, Mt. Rwenzori, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla. |
