Couples that are looking to have a romantic stay whilst in Adelaide have the unique opportunity to stay in a historical part of the cities heritage. One of the most popular and exclusive buildings is the Fire Station Inn. The Fire Station Inn is a remarkable two storey Victorian building, which stands out prominently on the old high street of Tynte Street North Adelaide. It was built in 1866 originally as a shop but in 1904 the Metropolitan Fire Brigade Service to a fire station converted it. It remained a fire station until the present conversion to luxury accommodation.

Within the Inn there are three types of suites, aptly named The Residency, Fire Engine, and the Loggia Suite.

The Residency is a superb five star spacious contemporary suite of five rooms with sundeck of seven metres, perched two stories high. The master bedroom is lightly washed with a creamy rag finish and opens via French doors onto a balcony overlooking the North Adelaide cafe precinct. The second bedroom with a French canopied half testa all brass queen bed, opens on to the sundeck. The ultra modern kitchen made of Western Australian red jarrah is open plan with a large freestanding bench

The Fire Engine suite is an open plan suite with separate bathroom, which used to house the fire engines and still has the fireman's pole. It features an enormous two-person spa bath on heated black and white checked floor tiles. The original front bi-fold doors have been renewed and hung with red and white striped awnings. The kitchen is hidden behind the red jarrah bar and contains a mini bar, halogen oven top and microwave and is ideal to be used for entertaining. The floor is tiled with terracotta and heated with under floor heating. A fire engine red old prison door with a keyhole sets a humorous note and ensures privacy. The old fireman's red hooded bedroom lights have been restored and now illuminate the walls of the 1942 international fire engine suite

The Loggia is a private suite with the emphasis on romance and privacy with touches of Baroque accents. The magnificent two-person spa bathroom with marble tiles and heated spa is flooded with light with two complete walls of glass opaque tiles. The bathroom is surrounded by a walled private courtyard garden with Italianate tiles, Tuscan hued walls, a lion’s head fountain and slim pencil pines.
