Tasmania: 6 Day Cradle and the West Walk
Spend 6 days exploring the Tasmanian wilderness, all from the comforts of your Cabin accommodation. Explore Cradle Mountain, Strahan and Lake St Clair, as you meander your way through some of Australia’s most untouched wilderness.
Start your trip at Cradle Mountain at the northern end of Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. Attempt to summit precipitous Cradle Mountain and explore the glacially carved landscape home to numerous furry animals no longer prevalent anywhere else in the world.
After a couple of nights in highland cabins make your way west into the distinctive quartz country characterized by jagged peaks, deep chasms, tannin stained streams and towering waterfalls. There are numerous short walks en route to the harbour village of Strahan on the West Coast. There you will find the opportunity to immerse yourself in its renowned pining, whaling and penal history.
Be amazed by spectacular roads that wind through this stunning country as guests journey to Lake St Clair in the centre of Tassie. Walk through magnificent cool temperate rainforest squeezed between deep dark waters and towering spires. Climb above the tree line to take in views of inaccessible South Western Tasmania.
Spend time at Liffy Falls as you descend out of the wild country back to the cultivated patchwork of rural Northern Tasmania.
