FIJI ECO ADVENTURE RESORT
Matava Resort

On the remote and pristine island of Kadavu, Matava lies in secluded splendor yet with a vibrant, adventurous spirit. This small and intimate getaway has been designed to blend into the natural environment as well as creating a minimal impact on it. The resort is an adventure-seeker's paradise with the Great Astrolabe Reef beckoning visitors to explore by snorkeling, diving, kayaking and fishing. Nestled in the rainforest lies more exploration through village visits and trekking expeditions.

Fiji Dive Resort

Accommodation

The traditional Fijian bures feature polished timber floors, louvered windows, 4-post timber beds, solar power, private decks and excellent ocean views as they lie nestled within the tropical foliage. Waterfront bures lie along the shore with closer views of the reef and neighboring islands. All but three bures have private bathrooms with hot water.

Dining

At Matava, you will find an imaginative blend of local and international cuisine as you dine on the balcony of the Bure Levu. Featuring seasonal delicacies, fresh produce from their own organic garden, freshly baked breads, and fresh seafood, you will find dishes such as papaya salad, mango chicken, coconut curries, and sashimi. Once a week, guests may also experience a traditional Fijian Lovo feast.

Diving

The Great Astrolabe Reef (the fourth largest in the world) is Fiji's largest living organism extending across the entire souther side of Kadavu. This makes Kadavu one of the world's premier diving locations, and guests are escorted by expert divers to explore the hidden paradise. All levels of ability can find themselves encountering colorful coral and a vast array of marine life in over 20 world-class sites.

Fishing

With 50 miles of barrier reef forming sheltered lagoons and steep drop offs, there is an endless amount of blue water sport and big game fishing. The resort has a tag and release policy on all billfish and a catch and release policy on everything else unless you are bringing home dinner to be prepared whichever delicious way you choose.

Fiji Adventure

Sea kayak with fully-tailored all day trips, overnight, or just off the resort. You can snorkel right in front of the resort or take a boat ride to the main reef. Trek the rainforest on a network of paths which connect beaches, villages, and waterfalls. Take a guided nature walk or learn from a local medicine man the healing properties of local plants. Surfing is available for intermediate to advanced surfers, and all ability levels can enjoy bird watching, sailing, and cruising.
