Travel Adventures in Micronesia
Chuuk Lagoon
The sea floor beneath the Chuuk Lagoon is steeped in history. A major shipwreck site from World War II, the hulks have been transformed into amazing shipreefs, holding the very best of the undersea world and maritime history at one site. Incredible corals in a kaleidoscope of colours and shapes attract divers worldwide for both daytime and night diving. Schooling tropical fish smother the ships. Often overlooked are the outer reefs where a great variety of fish, both pelagic and reef dwelling, venture near cascading oral walls. Chuuk is the ultimate scuba destination.

Yap
Known as the Mysterious Isle of Stone Money Yap is considered the most traditional island in Micronesia. Stone paths that are centuries old wander through lush foliage to thatched villages with traditional Men’s Houses and huge discs of Stone Money. Diving in Yap is famous for the manta rays of Mil Channel, where diving with these gentle giants is as much a guarantee as Mother Nature provides. Additionally the Valley of the Rays, the spectacular walls reefs and sheer drop offs at the southern end of the island are well worth diving.
